The Godfathers
Arwen had two godfathers, my mother's two siamese cats, the cats that together with the unfortunately deceased cat Shiwa (1986-2000) kindled my love for the Old-Style Siamese. In 1986 the first cat came into our home, Lady Shiwa, een gorgeous seal-point cat. She and the godfathers come from a loving family in Best (nowadays four gorgeous cats live there). Shiwa was brought to a befriended male Siamese (who retired afterwards) to become a mother, but the nest failed miserably. Shiwa was neutered then and for company her brother Basha (1987-2004) came to live with us.
Years later we heard that the
family from Best had a litter kittens with Blue points
and a Lilac point next to Seal points (see picture left).

picture above). We decided that we'd get a kitten with
another colour when they had a next litter. Then
Osiris
(1994) came into our home, a Chocolate point
male.
Basha and Osiris (Oosje) live very happily at my mother's home in Berkel. When Arwen came to make her acquaintance we sent Oosje into the garden, in order for Basha to get to know Arwen in all peace and quiet. This went very well. Basha acted like a loving godfather and started to wash Arwen all over, this to the displeasure of Arwen. She didn't want her backside to be washed by a strange man. Oosje felt that something out of the ordinary was happening and he kept on walking (and yelling) to and fro in front of the sliding-door and window, until we let him in. He didn't like that new thing at all and he let us know loudly too. It took him a whole week to get adjusted to Arwen and now they're the best of wrestling friends. Oosje loves wrestling with an equal partner, Basha is not into that kind of stuff anymore.
Murron, Basha and Arwen on my lap For a short while already Arwen has a stepsister, my brother Mark's cat. She is a champagne mink Tonkinese kitten without papers and is called Murron (03-02-2003). In the beginning Murron was terrified and Arwen didn't want anything to do with her at all and got very moody. After staying with Basha and Osiris for a week Murron became a real kitten again, not afraid of anything, very curious. Murron is not discouraged by Arwens sometimes unpleasant behaviour (she's beginning to warm up now, has to because during my vacation all four of the cats have to be together) and chases her with no fear, even though Arwen is still twice her size. My brother Mark is absolutely crazy about her and that is the most important thing.
