Sunday 15th May 2005 After one day the kittens have not all gained like they should, and little ieniemienie (now called Cambë) even lost 2 grams. This is not very serious yet, she has been drinking, I have seen it myself, but she needs to grow a bit fater, her brothers and sisters are a lot bigger and can easily throw her off a nipple. To be sure I will feed them by hand, with a syringe getting some KMR into her mouth. Both boys and the girl with the kink have gained very nicely right away, they were the biggest at birth as well. Gloriana still has some trouble to just lay down in the right manner for her kittens, she seems very restless to me. She also has to adjust to this new situation of being a mother of course. And for me the sight of Gloriana is also an adjustment, I was used to her enormous belly and now she's very slender again (with hanging tits from the full milkglands, of course ;-) ).

Friday 20th May 2005 Gloriana only needed a few days to adjust to her motherrole, she will lay down for nursing more (instead of sitting up like she did at first) and she calmed down. She will eat more herself, in the first few days she would not leave her babies a lot and therefore not eat well, but of course I gave her breakfast and dinner in bed, which she appreciated greatly. She needs all the energy she can get because feeding seven kittens is a hard job. Just like Arwen I have noticed that Gloriana is drinking more, very obvious because I have to fill the water bowl more often (because they are separated from the others to prevent the amount of stress, both Arwen and Gloriana were very moody at the end of their pregnancies and would challenge the others, and eachother too, to a fight more often). The kittens are starting to develop some colour as well, some are darker than others, which colours they are is still a mystery to me though. Cantëa and Carnil have started to open their eyes, Cúna is also beginning.
Sunday 22nd May 2005 With help from my friend Inge I have taken individual photos of the kittens. Because they are not real models and therefore won't sit still on command not all photos are as sharp as I'd like them to be. But nonetheless I am happy with the results. I hope you enjoy them! Calainis, Cantëa and Cúna seem to be the darkest of the lot, so perhaps they are seal points... but I still find it very difficult and I have no clue which colours the others have at all.
