Arwen is a sweet and very naughty seal point cat. Since she wasn't born in a cattery, but just in a loving home, I gave her a name that fits the mood of the Catteryname.
Arwen lives with me on her own, but stays with her two godfathers, Osiris en Basha, on a regular basis. These are my mother's cats, the ones I grew up with. They're Siamese of the more traditional type (see Godfathers for more information) and the only breed I wanted to live with. Unfortunately they've become very scarce these days, since the present-day Siamese took their place. Luckily I heard of the family Jongeneel, who had kittens from their beautiful cat Mini and stud Sinope Capricorn. Just one kitten was still available from that litter, and when I saw them I was sold. A couple of weeks later I picked her up. During the first month Arwen lived with her godfathers, who had to get used to her. Now they love it when she comes to visit, especially Osiris who can chase her around, Basha is too old for that kind of activity (15 years old).
MARCH 2003 Arwen is a very naughty cat, but also very sweet. As I'm writing this, early March 2003, we've just moved into our new home. During all the work and moving stuff Arwen stayed with her two godfathers, Basha and Osiris. She loves pouncing on Osiris, especially when he's rolling on the floor trying to get your attention to pet him. Luckily for Osiris he's a big cat, so he can manage her.
As mentioned, Arwen and I moved to a new home with a garden (more like a building site). Unfortunately the housing corporation won't allow me to build an outdoor cage, so Arwen is only allowed in the garden on a rope. This is not the most handy solution, all she has to do is walk around the leg of a chair or table a couple of times and she's stuck. Then she calls out in her very Siameselike voice and I have to rescue her again. She does love it in the sun and enjoys being outdoors. Especially flies are very interesting, but she hasn't been able to catch them yet.
MAY 2003 Arwen is used to her 'sister' Murron now (see Godfathers), they are great playmates. Osiris seems to be glad with that, the two ladies harass him less now. During my vacation to Italy Arwen stayed with her godfathers for twelve days. When I returned she acted very cool at first, but when I took her home I couldn't even water the plants without tripping over her. She has the tendency to ask for your whole attention, and then she will walk in circles around your legs. Arwen was very affectionate, purring contstantly and sitting on your lap. Gladly she doesn't stay angry for a long time, Shiwa did, she'd ignore you for a few days after a holiday.

JULY 2003 Arwen was in heat for the first time. Some other times I had the suspicion that Arwen was maybe in heat, but this time it was different. Arwen called for a mate for five days, she has to wait some months though. We stayed with the Godfathers and Murron was there as well. Usually Arwen is not that fond of Murron, but she was much friendlier now. Murron has the habit of biting when she wants to play, so she bit Arwen. No problem, but Murron bit her in her neck, so Arwen moved to mating position and stayed still. Murron kept on biting Arwen and she didn't understand, usually she'll get some blows back, not this time. It was a very funny sight.
NOVEMBER 2003 Arwen visited Sky Eyes Amaro (Farao) on a romantic trip. Contrary to what I had expected knowing her behaviour at shows she was very calm and certainly not afraid when confronted with Farao. Farao and the surroundings were very interesting indeed, although it did take a while before he was allowed to go near her. Eventually everything went well and I hope that our first litter will be born in the beginning of January next year, read more about it on the kittenspage!
